Referrals
A Trizlink referral is somebody who signed up through your link and then verified their email. When that happens you earn points and a dated badge, and once you reach the threshold you earn a month of a paid plan.
Every number in that sentence — how many points, which badge, how many referrals make a threshold, how many months it grants, which tier, and the yearly cap — is set in the admin panel. The referrals page reads them live and states the current rule, so what you see there is always the deal being applied, not a figure copied into the page when it was written.

Where to find it
Dashboard → Referrals, in the Account group of the sidebar. It is also in the account menu behind your avatar, and there is an Invite a friend row on the dashboard home.
The page gives you one link. It is yours permanently — the code does not rotate, and it is safe to put in a bio page, an email signature or a talk slide.
If the programme is switched off, those three entry points disappear and the page tells you nothing is being counted. Anything you already earned stays exactly where it is.
What counts as a referral
Two things have to be true, in order:
- Somebody opens your link and creates an account. That records a pending referral.
- Their email address is verified. That turns it confirmed, and only then does anything get awarded.
The second step is what the database watches. Nothing about a referral is triggered by a click, a page view or a button — a click is not a person, and a programme that paid out for clicks would be paying for traffic rather than for users.
Three things cannot happen, because the database refuses them rather than the form discouraging them:
- You cannot refer yourself.
- Nobody can be referred twice. Deleting an account and signing up again does not mint a second reward.
- An existing account cannot attach a code. If you have had your account for more than an hour, opening a referral link does nothing. The programme is for new people.
What you earn
On every confirmed referral: points on your progression total, and a Word of mouth badge stamped with the date.
The badge stacks — you hold one for each confirmed referral, so three referrals means three badges. That is deliberately different from the achievement badges on the Achievements page, which you earn once. Keeping them separate is what stops "3 of 8 earned" from becoming a number that cannot be right.
At the threshold: a month of a paid tier. The threshold is counted in confirmed referrals, and it grants each time you reach it rather than on every referral after the first.
At launch the rule is 50 points and a badge per confirmed referral, and one month of Pro every five. Check the page for the current numbers; that is what it is for.
The cap, and banked months
Plan months are capped over a rolling year, so the programme cannot be turned into an indefinite free subscription by one very effective month of sharing.
Over the cap, the points and the badge still land. Only the plan month stops, and the page says so where you would look for it.
If you are already on the tier the reward grants, or above it, the month is banked rather than applied. It sits in your rewards list with a note saying it applies when your current plan ends. A reward that replaced a plan you paid for with a shorter free one would be a downgrade dressed as a gift.
Where a grant does apply, it extends rather than replaces: the new end date is a month past whichever is later, today or your current end date.
Every award is a row in your rewards list, and that list cannot be edited — corrections are new rows. It is what answers "why am I on a paid plan?" months later.
What the page never shows
Who joined. You see a count and a state — how many are pending, how many confirmed — and never a name, an email address or a row per person. Somebody who accepts an invitation has not agreed to appear on a list.
The invitee is never told what you earned, and the mirror of that promise is that they are not itemised to you either.
No mail is sent on your behalf. There is no "invite your contacts", no address-book upload and no reminder that appears to come from you. The page produces a link, and what you do with it is yours.
FAQ
Does my referral code expire?
No. One code, permanently, and it does not rotate.
Does the person I invite have to do anything beyond signing up?
They have to verify their email address. Until they do, the referral sits as pending.
I referred someone but nothing was awarded.
The likeliest reasons are that their email is not verified yet, that they already had an account, or that the account they signed up with had been created more than an hour before they opened your link. The programme being switched off also stops counting, and the page says so at the top when it is.
Can I see who used my link?
No, and that is deliberate. The page shows counts and states only.
Where do I change the points, the threshold or the tier?
Dashboard → Admin → Settings, in the Values section, alongside the off switch in Platform switches. The server reads those values when it awards, so a change applies to the next confirmed referral. The database refuses a combination that cannot work — a threshold below one, or a yearly cap lower than the months a single threshold grants.
